About Hotel Sevilla

Sevilla Hotel opened in 1908. Architects got their inspiration from the Moorish lines of the Patio de los Leones at the Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain, in a style that stands out through its arches, columns and many tiles.

Its colonial style, exquisite decoration and comfortable rooms, along with its location in Havana's historic heart, made this hotel one of the most visited hotels in the Cuban capital.

The magnificence of the building turned the hotel into the place par excellence where major social events took place, especially in its Roof Garden which became the meeting hall in vogue at the beginning of 20th century.

Visual arts were also represented at the hotel with the presence of Mexican muralist David Alfaro Siqueiros, who, according to anecdotes, painted two murals in the Roof Garden to pay for his stay. Other distinguished guests were the novelists George Simenon and Vicente Blasco Ibanez.

The hotel's facilities include the swimming pool, sauna, smorgasbord, art gallery, snack bar and barbecue.

Traditions and anecdotes have given a special touch to the veteran hotel, which has been rejuvenated after an investment project that expanded its potentials and turned it into a famous classic in the Cuban capital.
