About YHA Ambleside

Ambleside is in the very heart of the Lake District and a popular base for watersports, walking and climbing enthusiasts. This large hostel is just outside a busy village on the shores of Lake Windermere.

The views from the hostel lounge and many of the waterfront bedrooms are outstanding.
We have forty-three 2-5 bedded and sixteen 6-8 bedded rooms.

Meals available include breakfast, picnic lunch and evening meal. Evening meals are served from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

This is a great place for outdoor people wanting a range of activities nearby.

*** This hostel is part of the Youth Hostels Association of England & Wales, which is a membership organization. The prices quoted are member's prices. A non members supplement of E3 per person per night will be charged on arrival for those guests not in possession of a valid YHA England & Wales or equivalent IYHF/ Hostelling International membership card ***

***We cannot accept bookings in dormitory accommodation for persons aged between 16-18 without an accompanying adult over the age of 18. People aged between 16- 18 who wish to stay without an adult must book a private room.
If you are travelling with a person under the age of 16, who is of the opposite sex, then you must also book a private room, as no one under this age is permitted to stay in a dormitory without an adult.****
