About Jodhpur Youth Hostel
Jodhpur Youth Hostel,Bhati Choraha,Raatanada,Jodhpur-342011
Rajasthan or Rajputana of old is the most colorful and exotic of all Indian State, a land which has a race of people known for their bravery and their chivalry. Jodhpur is the largest city in Rajasthan after Jaipur and stands at the edge of the Thar Desert. The kingdom of the Rathore Kings was once known as Marwar, the "Land of Death" named after Rao Jodha (1459). Jodhpur's house and temples, palaces and havelis still retain and preserve the age-old traditions.
Jodhpur is connected from the side of the desert by a massive 10 km. long wall. The massive Mehrangarh Fort atop a rocky hill dominates the city. A picturesque road winds up through various gates and walls. Jodhpur is connected with Delhi, Jaipur, Udaipur, Aurangabad, Ahmedabad and Mumbai by air. Train connections operate to Delhi, Agra, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkatta, and almost all tourist destinations in Rajasthan. State Transport buses ply from all major cities to Jodhpur, Jaipur, Udaipur and Bikaner.
