About Kandeth Homestay

Wayanad is situated in Kerala, the Southern Sate of India. Wayanad literally means "the land of paddy fields". It is in an elevated picturesque mountainous plateau. Historians are of the view that organised human life existed in these parts, at least ten centuries before Christ. Countless evidences about New Stone Age civilization can be seen on the hills of Wayanad. The Edakkal Caves with pictures painted on their walls and pictorial writings, speak of the bygone era and civilization.

Climate: Wayanad has cool weather throughout the year (December and January are the coolest - averaging about 15 degree C) though March-April is warmer.

Kandeth Homestay is located in the centre of Wayanad district. It is a lovely, beautiful, new house, situated in a pretty village, about 120 Kilometres away from the Calicut (Kozhikode) Airport. The house is built in an agricultural land, cultivated mainly by coffee, pepper, plantain, tapioca, coconut trees, ginger, turmeric etc. One has the chance to see directly cardamom and vanilla cultivation, too. It is a calm and quiet place, undisturbed from the rest of the world - no noise from vehicles or from factories. Taking a walk along the agricultural plantation is really relaxing and refreshing.

There are 3 rooms, each with attached toilets (European style) and shower.
All rooms are mosquito proof; besides, there are mosquito nets for all the beds.
Separate safe-deposit-locker facility in all rooms.
There is a common TV and a spacious dining hall.
Delicious Kerala food (spicy or non-spicy, vegetarian or non-vegetarian) is served at the taste of the guest.
24 hours cold / hot water facility in all rooms.

Thus, we can receive a total number of 6 guests at a time in the house. House is neat and clean, good for a short or long holiday, relaxation and rest.
Smoking inside the house is not recommended; but outside, there is no problem.
Couples or guests in small or large groups are preferred.

Ayurveda massage, Magnetic therapy and Naturopathic treatments could be arranged on request.

We shall also help the guests to organise sight-seeing tours in and around Wayanad.

Air port pick-up could be arranged if needed

Accommodation on twin sharing basis.
Bed and Breakfast: 10 Euro
Half Board: 15 Euro
Full Board: 20 Euro
The rate is per person per day

Recommended duration of Stay to visit all the places of tourist importance in Wayanad is 7 days.
