About Antica Dimora

Antica Dimora, notified by the National Trust of Siena as ' historical and monumental property ', is the result of two years of restoration made with extreme attention to detail over the original characteristics, using materials mainly recovered from the palace. The ancient traces are widely visible both outside and inside the structure.

The outside, completely made of stones, is adorned with a characteristic arcade loggia opening on the surrounding countryside. The interior, placed on two floors, presents the typical architectural elements of the Tuscan houses: floors of handmade terracotta, big beams holding the ceiling, fireplaces made of stones, etc.

We gladly welcome guests in our house, offering assistance for any arising necessities or suggestions. We are hopeful that the enchanted atmosphere we have created allows you to spend an unforgettable holiday in the Tuscan countryside.

On the first floor of Antica Dimora there are four double rooms opening to a large lounge dominated by an ancient fireplace made of carved stone. Our guests are welcome to cozy up by it.

Guests can choose among the different bedrooms distinguished by the typical flowers of the Tuscan countryside: SUNFLOWER, ROSE, GLICINE and JASMINE. Each bedroom furnished with antique objects and art and craft works, offers satellite TV, ventilator and private bathroom with shower. The rooms are also enriched with precious details such as a canvas reproducing Botticelli's Venere, wrought-iron bed with canopy, curtains and soft fabric, hand- painted wardrobes, armchairs and small toilet-tables, etc.

The service at ' Antica Dimora ' includes bed and breakfast on request. Guests can also use the kitchen and the table in the lounge, which are particularly useful for large groups occupying the entire facility and want to cook for themselves.
Ample free parking, reserved for our guests, is offered in front of Antica Dimora.

Antica Dimora is located only four kilometres from San Gimignano, along the provincial road leading to Volterra. Our structure is in the centre of the ancient village of San Donato, just in front of the little romantic church, encircled by a group of medieval buildings. Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves extending as far as the eye can see, Antica Dimora is the ideal place for special travellers in search of the special charm of Tuscan countryside and breath of ancient atmosphere. Besides, Antica Dimora is the ideal point of departure for trips by car or walking tours.

People who are fond of nature can plunge in the absolute quietness of the surrounding countryside and walk along several trails to discover lakes and amazing landscapes.
