Bomvu is located in a lovely tropical garden situated at the mouth of the pristine Bomvu river, it overlooks the Indian Ocean and is a true campers paradise. The tranquil hostel has an all African atmosphere with the Xhosa people participating in the activities (drum making and playing, hut-sleepovers, traditional dancing, beadwork-workshops, Xhosa bread making etc.) The local guides will accompany you by horseback or on foot to awesome coastal destinations (e.g. Hole in the Wall, Mapuzi, Sacred Pools). Our famous Full Moon parties take place at the Stoney Boma Amphitheatre, where drummers and firedancers will keep you moving to the African rhythm. Yoga classes are given in our beautiful studio to add to the body, mind and soul experience.

The surf school organizes surf courses from 1 to 5 days and guarantees no crowds, warm water and good waves to create a perfect learning environment.

A must to experience is our annual July cultural music festival.
