Grindelwald offers numerous world-famous attractions: the Eiger Northface, the Jungfraujoch 'Top of Europe', the longest glacier in the Alps, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and much more. There are lots of excursions to go in the Grindelwald area. Take the 'Firstbahn' cable car from the village to the First mountain, while the cog railway will take you to Kleine Scheidegg and Jungfraujoch 'Top of Europe'. From Grindelwald Grund, on the bed of the valley, Europe's longest cable car carries you to Mannlichen ski and hiking area. The lakes of Thun and Brienz accessible in 30 minutes driving by car or public transportation. During the summer season you can swim and sunbathing or make a round trip by boat.
