About Palazzo Soderini

Palazzo Soderini is immersed in one of the most enchanting areas of Venice, can be reached from S.Marco’s square through Riva degli Schiavoni in few minutes, one of the most famous and enjoyable Venetian promenades. It is located in a extremely peaceful place, off the beaten track, throbbing with daily folk life and filled with true Venetian breath. Placed in a strategic area and thanks to the public transport near at hand, it allows its guests to reach quickly all town artistic sites and its many picturesque islands. Palazzo Soderini faces campo Bandierae Moro; named after the Venetians Attilio and Emilio Bandiera and Domenico Moro, who in 1844 were executed for leading an abortive revolt against the Bourbons, it is one of the most characteristic open-air places in town, rich in precious witnesses of Venetian art and history: in the very old church of San Giovanni in Bragora, probably best known to Venetians as the baptismal church of Antonio Vivaldi, are preserved two breath-taking paintings by Cima da Conegliano: a SS. Helen and Constantine and a Baptism on the high altar. Nowadays some rooms of the famous martyrs’ historical abode house Palazzo Soderini. The family management, pleased to satisfy all guest’s needs, guarantees a cosy and attentive atmosphere.
