About HI-Baltimore

HI-Baltimore Hostel is situated in an historic 1857 brownstone mansion in the heart of downtown Baltimore City. We are just 7 blocks north of the Inner Harbor, Convention Center, Orioles and Ravens Stadiums, and surrounded by all the public transportation you would ever need. We are located directly across the street from the Baltimore Basilica, America's First Cathedral. Clubs, restaurants, shopping centers, food markets, museums, monuments, and local Baltimore Culture are all within minutes walking distance from our front door!

The Hostel features in room Air Conditioning, free WI-FI and desktop Internet, modern kitchen facilities, en-suite bathrooms, a large ballroom and common room with a TV, Movies, DVDS, grand piano, as well as a back deck and patio for relaxing outside in the sun. We also offer free coffee and tea and lockers are available for Free with your own padlock. We have limited parking available at $8 a night.

Front desk hours are from 8am to 11pm. (NO Lock Out, NO Curfew) There is a $10 late arrival fee for all arrivals after 11pm. No walk ins without a reservation after 11pm.

Check in times are from 4pm to 11pm. Check out is by 11am.

Just a short 5 minute walk from the Hostel, the Baltimore Farmers Market happens every Sunday. You can get local produce, milk, meats, arts, and more! Pick up something to cook in our amazing kitchen.

June 14th, 15th - Hon Fest
It doesn't get anymore Baltimore than this. Two days of big hair, big glasses, gaudy outfits, and lots of 'Bawlmerese'. Its a street party in Hamden, a classic setting for many of John Waters movies. Music, food, art, and tons of people watching. You don't want to miss this! FREE!

July 18th - 20th - Artscape

Whats Going on @ the Hostel?

Every Morning, 8:15am to 10:30am - FREE make your own pancake breakfast. We provide the batter and the syrup, you do the rest!

Thursday Nights, 6:30pm - Join other hostellers for a pasta dinner. Share travel tales, make new friends, or simply enjoy some good food. Dinner is $3 and served at 6:30pm.

Every Friday Night, 8pm - Movie Night @ the Hostel!
Enjoy new releases and old favorites shown on the projector screen in our basement common room. As the weather gets nicer we will move the movie showings to our back patio. Sit out under the stars and enjoy a movie with some friends and new friends to be!

June 5th - 8pm to 10pm - Music Showcase
Sean K Preston brings a Surf/Country/Rock N Roll style like none other. Join us at the hostel for a great night of music! Free to hostel guests, $2 for all others.

June 21st - 6pm to 10pm - Pastors for Peace Cuba Night
Free for hostel guests, charge for all others. Pastors for Peace are organizing their 19th travel challenge to Cuba and will be holding a fund raiser and informational event here at the hostel. The night will include an authentic Cuban dinner followed by a program discussing the current issues of Cuba.

July 12th - 1pm to 8pm - One Year Anniversary Celebration!
HI-Baltimore Hostel is one year old! After eight years of being out of operation, including over three years of intense renovations, HI-Baltimore Hostel reopened its doors in July of 2007. Its been a great year and we are ready to celebrate! Join us for a cookout on our back patio and deck and local music showcase. Bands include FFHH with more to be announced.

July 16th - 7pm to 11pm - Music Showcase
Enjoy some music in our Parlor Room featuring The Huspa Concept (www.myspace.com/huspa), KO (www.myspace.com/ko1), and Lime. These touring bands are coming all the way from Charleston, NC and will be bringing along music, art prints, zines, and homemade recycled merchandise for sale. Be sure and book your bed for the night!

July 27th - 8pm to 11pm - Music Showcase
Coming all the way from Cleveland, Ohio - Hot ChaCha will be filling the hostel with the sound of music. More bands TBA. This is a FREE show, though donations are appreciated for the traveling bands.

Every Tuesday Night, 8pm - Baltimore Film Series
Back by popular demand! The Baltimore Film Series features films made by Baltimore Directors, that were filmed in Baltimore, or are about Baltimore culture. All films will be shown on our projector screen in our basement common room or outside on our back patio weather permitting.

Hostelling International is a non-profit membership based organization. Non-members will be asked to pay a $3 temporary membership fee per night upon check-in. Local taxes (13.5%) will be collected upon check-in. **Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. **
