LoLhostel is a new hostel located in the heart of Syracuse, Sicily, 50 meters from the train and bus station, in a strategic position close to Ortygia and the Archaeological Park, few minutes walking from both the destinations.

You can choose to stay in 4 beds nice dorms (female or mixed) to meet new people from every place in the world, or in private twin or single rooms, all newly refurbished, all with bathroom and air conditioning (both dorms and rooms) and security lockers.

We offer to our guests:
-reception open 24 hours, no curfew and no lockout
-satellite tv in common room with music and movies in English
-superfast internet wi-fi connection FREE .
- internet on public computers 24 hours a day at the cheapest rate in town (eur 2 per hour).
-guides of Sicily in all languages for FREE

*** CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS***
We accept Visa and Mastercard but, in order to cover the 2% commission charged by the bank (which is very heavy for a low cost structure, considering the 10% booking site commission and that linen and at all the other expenses are included in the price), we need ask for a +2% ONLY if the customer chooses to pay with credit card in the hostel.
Anyway, there is an ATM very close to the hostel, so you can easily retrieve cash.

***LEGAL NOTICE PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING***

Before booking via Hostelworld.com, please be aware that the commission charged when you book the beds is NOT a deposit for us: on the contrary, this amount (10%) is kept entirely by Hostelworld.com as a commission, and there is NO economical exchange between the booking site and the hostel.
In other words, Hostelworld.com does NOT give anything to the hostel, never.
That means that in the case that, after booking, you decide to shorten your stay, the part of the commission paid for the night(s) you decide not to stay in the hostel is not refundable by us, as we simply cannot refund what we have never received and will never receive.
The commission is refundable by Hostelworld.com only according to its policies and under certain circumstances, (only if you choose the 'cancellation protection option').
So, to avoid misunderstandings, our advice is to read carefully the cancellation policies of Hostelworld.com.

E.G. a customer booked one bed for TWO nights and paid Eur 20,00 PER NIGHT, of which Eur 18,00 is the net price for the bed, payable upon arrival (and going to the hostel) and Eur 2,00 is the 10%commission paid by credit card, which goes ENTIRELY to Hostelworld.com.
Totally the customer paid 40,00 for the two nights (18,00+18,00 net price for the hostel and 2,00+2,00 commissions for Hostelworld.com).
If the customer decides to stay only ONE NIGHT instead of TWO, he/she will pay to the hostel only Eur 18,00 (net amount for the 1st night), but we CANNOT refund the 2,00 commission paid to Hostelworld.com for the SECOND night, nor we can detract it from the price due, for the simple reason that we will NEVER receive that amount.
Please note that under the booking site rules, if the cancellation is not made a certain number of days before the arrival, the hostel could charge the entire price, as for a structure is a damage to keep a bed booked in vain, especially in high season.
We prefer not to do it and to give the customer the freedom to change his plans. Hope you appreciate it and understand that in addition we cannot refund amounts paid to third parties.

On the contrary, when a customer books via LoLhostel website, in case he/she decides to shorten the stay, we refund the entire amount of the nights in which he/she will not sleep in the hostel.
That was for the sake of clearness, as some booking sites are (obviously) not very clear about this point.

****IMPORTANT NOTICE****
The hostel is currently undergoing a major refurbishment directed by a team of prestigious architects and designers of the area.
The first step has been completed on March 31st 2008 with the reopening of the dorms and rooms, reception area and a small common area, all newly decorated.
The second step, with the reopening of the huge common areas with a bar, kitchen and other dorms, will be completed in Spring 2009.
Due to this works, the common kitchen will be closed and the common area will be reduced until October 31th 2008.
