Yangtze River International Youth Hostel is the only hostel located downtown on the bank of the Yangtze River in Chao Tianmen. From shopping and eating to sight seeing and transport there is not a more centrally located hostel in Chong Qing.

For the big attractions we are a mere walk away, the Liberation Monument, Chao Tianmen Port, Chong Qing exhibition center, Arhat Temple, Hong Ya cave, and the famous Chong Qing Cable Cars are all with in a 5 minute walk away.

There is a whole city of undiscovered wonders not in any guide book but all right out of our front door. Don't just follow the crowd discover the true Chong Qing and let us show you. We have several self guided walks that our staff can direct you on, to take you through our city like only a local can, and it's all free.

When it comes time for the next leg of your journey we can also help you there as well. We have the most comprehensive and through Three Gorges information and ticket booking service available. Most of our staff has actually been on the tours and sites that we recommend and can give you their personal experience and insight into the many places that you will want to see.

Traveling in China can be difficult, so we have designed our hostel and staff to be as welcoming, laid back, and home like as possible. Any hostel can give you a bed and a plate of eggs in the morning, it's the staff that make us who we are. Our staff is not only helpful and friendly but are also city ambassadors, Chong Qing has a unique culture and food, don't be in such a hurry to get to the Three Gorges that you miss out on all that our city has to offer.

Chong Qing is famous for the Three Gorges but actually there is more to one of the worlds largest cities than just a dam. Did you know that there are almost no bicycles in Chong Qing? That the houses built here had to be specially designed because most are on such steep hillsides (Diaojiao Lou). In China, Chongqing is well-known for our sexy women because they must climb so many hills everyday.

Anyone who has traveled around China for more than a day has heard about Hot Pot, it's from Chong Qing and if you're not afraid of hot and spicy we would be more than happy to show you where to get China's original Hot Pot�that is, if you have the courage.

FROM THE AIRPORT: take the airport shuttle Shang qing si, to the last stop（上清寺）. Then take a taxi to Chao tian men walk straight for 600 meters.

FROM THE NORTH TRAIN STATION: take bus 141 to Chao tian men bus station than take a taxi (approx. 15 minutes, CNY 18).

FROM THE CHONGQING TRAIN STATION: take bus 503, 120, or 608 to Chao tian men bus station than take a taxi (approx 10 minutes, CNY 10).

FROM CHAO TIAN MEN BUS STATION: walk for 10 minutes along the Yangtze River to No .80, keeping the Yangtze River on your left.
