Casa da Ponte de S. Pedro is a typical granite stone country house from the province of Minho. Its first registration dates back to August, 1882.
The name of the cottage derives from the medieval one-arched stone bridge over the Turio rivulet, near the house. Next to the bridge stands St Peter's Chapel where a pilgrimage, and a religious festivity, takes place every three years.
From the bridge, the tourist can admire the scenery of the Turio woods and Cabreira Mountain. These woods shelter such protected species as the roe deer, the eagle, the hare, the wild boar or the partridge.
In the surrounding area, the tourist can also enjoy the sights and activities at the Ermal Dam, a magnificient mountain lake, where the preservation of the environment is a matter of pride, not allowing any type of motor water sports. The artificial lake itself, surrounded by dense woods, provides the visitor with an excellent spot for fishing, canoeing and sailing, or simply relaxing on its clean, wonderful shores and beach.
Open air activities such as mountaineering, trekking, mountain biking or off-road circuits are also available all across forest tracks, roads and paths in Cabreira Mountain.
The Cottage has 2 kayaks and 4 mountain bikes at the tourist's disposal. Pedestrian walks both in cabreira and Geres Mountains can be arranged.
