About Riesserkopfhutte Garmisch

The Riesserkopfhutte and Tonihutte is located about 300m above Garmisch in the middle of the famouse skiing resort Hausberg / Kreuzeck. The location offers an amazing view over the city and to the higher mountains like Zugspitze (2962m). In the winter mounth the area is ideal for skiing, the slope starts directly at the house. The town of Garmisch currently prepares for the skking Woldchampionship in 2011. The summer mounth are mainly frequented by mountainbikers and hikers.

Right below the hostel you can visit lake Riessersee with its famouse ice hockey team or the Bob run of the olympic winter games in 1936. A small museum shows you the historical bobs and the equipment used.

Quit near is also the Garmisch skijump on the which the famouse 'Vier Schanzen Tournee' is held once a year.
