About Langholmens vandrarhem

Langholmen vandrarhem is one of the most well known and popular hostels in Stockholm. It used to be a prison, built 1840 and have figured in one of Sweden´s most beloved comedies 'Release the prisoners, it is spring!'

But most of all Langholmen vandrarhem is known cause it is just in front of Stockholms most popular beach -take a swim in approved good water in the middle of the city -this is an experience you will never forget! This smaller green island, Langholmen, is part of the neighborhood Sodermalm and a favourite hangout on a hot summerday for the young and trendy habitants, as well as families with young children. Here you can also find your own private spot on the cliffs if you prefer.

Just a 5-10 minutes walk from the hostel you are in the middle of the vibrant Sodermalm where you will find, subway, buses, and a good mix of bars, clubs, restaurants, and boutiques with original designer items from Sweden.

Or stay on the island Langholm, and take a walk in the forest, see the small boat harbour, wander around summer cottages, enjoy a piece of nature in the middle of the city.

The Hostel was totally renovated (2008). You stay in 2 - 4 beds prison cells that today offer daring solutions for a comfortable visit. Summer time and weekends, you can for a small supplement even book rooms with shower and WC. All cells offer wireless Internet. The hostel both have a excellent restaurant, pub and adorable cafe in the former backyard of the prison. Breakfast is served every morning -at an extra cost. Bedlinen can be rented.
