About Mamas Gallefort Hotel

Mamas Galle Fort Roof Cafe and B&B at 76 Leyn Baan Street in the ancient citadel of Galle Fort, is close to the lighthouse, and two minutes on foot from the beach.

This beautifully restored mid nineteenth century Chinese shop house is run by a Sinhalese Catholic: Jerome Perera and his Buddhist wife Malini.

There are two excellent air-conditioned suites, each of 40 square meters and two single rooms; all have fans. The house offers a dining hall and a ninety square meter roof terrace, with shade and views to the sea over palms and pan-tiled roofs. It is, in the not very humble opinion of Jean Louis Chase Loup d L'Aubert ' far and away the best value in the fort '.
