BEACHOUSE HOSTEL COZUMEL Stylish, spacious and comfortable rooms offered in a secure and welcoming Mexican/Swiss home. Situated in a quiet residential area just north of the resorts, Beachouse Hostel is next to the island’s best kite boarding beach and 10 minute’s walk from premium beach-accessible snorkeling. Tina and Adolfo opened their doors in February 2009 and offer guests a home-from-home experience in a genuinely warm environment. With a communal kitchen and dining area that invites sociability, expect shared meals and late-night chats. If the beach access isn’t enough there is a swimming pool set in a delightful garden where you can relax and watch the busy hummingbirds and bright yellow canaries. Beachouse Hostel is an ideal place for some serious relaxation in elegant and comfortable surroundings.

A single room with private bathroom costs US$25 per person per night. A double room with either twin beds or queen sized bed and private bathroom comes at the price of US$17.50 per person per night, note that if you wish to book this as a single room you need to pay the equivalent of 2 people. Note that in high season, as throughout Cozumel, prices increase. Rooms are spacious and clean with cool tiled floors, plentiful luggage storage space, fans and immaculate bathrooms. All rooms include towels and soap. The kitchen is large and well-equipped with a homely feel to it. Filtered water and filter coffee are provided to guests free of charge. If you don’t feel like cooking in the morning, Tina can provide a continental breakfast of ham, bread, eggs and tea or coffee for US$5. There is ample seating throughout the hostel with a stylish living room with sofas, grand dining room table and chairs and outside covered seating area. Sky TV will be introduced by the end of 2009. Guests also have use of a swimming pool complete with rubber ring which is set in a pretty garden with more seating. The hostel is fantastically located being less than 2 minute’s walk from Cozumel’s best kite boarding beach. Walk to the north and you will find kilometers of deserted beach, walk south towards the main town and you will pass numerous beaches including Playa Azul with magnificent snorkeling less than a meter from the shore. No need to worry if you don’t have your own snorkel and mask as Tina and Adolfo have high quality equipment which they are happy to lend to guests at no extra charge. The hostel’s position in the residential area of the Country Club means that it is safe and secure. For those guests who have hired a car there is parking space outside the hostel. Internet access is included in the price of your room with Wi-Fi soon to be installed. Free calls to and from the States via MagicJack are available to guests. Tina and Adolfo can organize car, moped and bike hire so that you can explore the island. They can also help you to arrange tours throughout the Yucatan to Chichen Itza, Coba, Tulum, San Gervacio and Villa Maya which is on Cozumel itself as well as numerous water activities including diving and snorkeling.
