This splendid old building is famous because it has been the witness of the news item among the most outstandings of the XVIth century, the murder of Maria d’Avalos and her lover Fabrizio Carafa, by the husband, the very famous madrigalist Carlo Gesualdo, prince of Venosa and because it has belonged, 200 years later, to Raimondo di Sangro, prince of Sansevero, scientific and alchemist, one of the characters most controversial and surprising of the XVIIIth century. Adjacent to the Cappella Sansevero, jewel of a monument, in a place full of monuments, coffees and artisanal shops, heart beating of one of the most alive towns of the world, the Soggiorno Sansevero, with its six bedrooms, is a peace oasis for the traveller who is willing to discover the genuine soul of Napoli.
