Like staying at your mates place- mates rates apply! Hq is a new concept in backpacking accommodation, providing you the chance to chill out for a few days and then help get you where you are going- on the cheap! Mates rates apply. We are a small but cozy setup in a brand new apartment complex located in the heart of Xi'an. Minutes from Bell Tower, Muslim quarter (tax free bargaining mecca) and Bar street. We truly offer you lodging that is a home away from home on your travels- kind of like visiting your mates place when you are a bit fed up and need a chat and a nice cup of tea.Hq has one 8 bed dorm, one 6 bed dorm and a double room (the Mao room) at this stage, though demand is likely to see this double over summer. Our extensive industry connections also mean you will get the best deals on tours, packages and tickets in Xi'an. The Kiwi and Chinese owners have traveled extensively around the world for more than 20 years collectively in over 30 countries and know precisely what backpackers require.Free Internet, Train station pick up, Games, Kitchen, Bikes, Cafe, Tours, DVD, Tickets, Chinese Lessons, Cultural Enlightenment, 40gb Music downloads (courtesy of Moeba), Books, heaps more. SINO-NEW ZEALAND TOURISM GROUP LIMITED'There are bigger hostels in Xi'An and probably slightly cheaper ones, but there can not be a better hostel than HQ. I stumbled across it when looking for somewhere to watch the rugby world cup final. I liked what i saw and decided to move from where i was staying and spend three fantastic nights. The hospitality shown by Todd and Mei was first class; nothing was too much trouble for them, from helping with train tickets to advising me on an itinerary and even inviting me out for a fantastic hotpot. It was a shame to leave in the end. I would throughly recommend this place to anyone.'Ian, Kent, Oct.25, 2007'This has simply been a fantastic place to stay, more like home than a hostel! Mei has been so welcoming and able to sort everything so easily. Wish I could have stayed longer than 3 days, there is so much to see in Xi'an. Thanks for everything Mei.'Jo/ London/ UK
