About La Casantonio

Welcome to Casantonio, a traditional building situated on San Telmo, open all year long to receive guests from all over the world.

Welcome to Casantonio, a traditional building dating from around 1900.

It has been restored to its original splendor with its marble stairs, timber floors and ornate ceilings, its decoration inspired by the history of Buenos Aires and Tango.

On the first and second floor you will find comfortable, spacious single and double rooms. There is a security box in each bedroom
We have modern bathrooms- share 3 or 4 persons.
We have Heating and fans

The third floor has a lounge where you can relax, listen to music, play the piano, watch TV, read and look out over the old city or bask in the sun most of the year round on the adjoining veranda with its potted plants.
There is also a fully equipped kitchen for your use

In Calle Peru you will find 'La Manzana de las Luces', an exquisite building in which lies the first church, the first University and the first parliament of Buenos Aires where plans for the independence from Spain first originated.
San Telmo has a fascinating history.

You will be seduced by the old buildings such as the impressive Casa Chorizo with its andalusian inspired patios dating back to the colonial period, or seeking antiques in the flea market in Plaza Dorrego then relaxing there with a coffee in one of the traditional coffee houses.
