Cabinas La Rivera is a bird-lover's paradise. The hotel is famous for the incredible array of birds that visit the hotel's peaceful gardens. You can easily spot brightly colored euphonies and tanagers, as well as hummingbirds and toucans. In all, more then 60 species of birds have been sighted at Cabinas La Rivera amidst the hotel's orchids, heliconias and fruit trees such as passion fruit, orange, tangerine and star fruit.

The Arenal Volcano is visible from Cabinas La Rivera as it is from the rest of La Fortuna. According to studies this location is out side the high-risk zone.
