Why stay in Malaga?

Malaga is in the Andalucia region of Spain, and can be counted on for hot weather and lots of abstract art. Between the two, you'll probably really appreciate the Spanish tradition of the midday siesta.

Malaga might be most famous as the birthplace of Pablo Picasso, so it's no surprise that there are a couple Picasso-related sights. You can visit the Picasso Museum to see some of the master's work, as well as his birthplace - many objects which the young Picasso owned and used are on display. The city is also famous, like much of Andalucia, for its Moorish architecture. Malaga is home to the Castillo de Gibralfaro and the Alcazaba, two Moorish castles which are worth visiting. Music enthusiasts will also want to take a peek at the Interactive Museum of Music, boasting one of the largest collections of instruments in Europe. To relax after all that culture intake, you might want to enjoy one of Malaga's many tea houses or some time on La Malagueta beach. Save some energy for the city's nightlife, which usually spills from the nightclubs into the Merced Square.
