Why stay in Cardiff?

The Welsh capital of Cardiff is fast becoming the place to visit, and the city is proudly showing off for the increasing crowds of tourists. With a wealth of historic sights and museums, it is a great destination for history buffs - and outdoors enthusiasts will not be disappointed, either, as there is plenty of hiking, climbing and other sports to enjoy.

Central Cardiff is easly to navigate on foot, and the remainder of the area is pretty well covered by the bus system; you should have no trouble getting to and from your hostel, even if you cannot walk to everything you want to see and do. There are not many hostels in Cardiff, however, and they can fill up quickly if there is an event in town - so book ahead to make sure you get a cheap room. It is important to remember that "hostels" are not just for young people or the backpacking crowd (even if the place has the word "backpacker" in the name!) - hostels are ideal for budget-conscious travelers who are interested in meeting other travelers. A couple Cardiff hostels worth mentioning are highlighted below.

NosDa @ The Riverbank is, as the name suggests, on the river and close to the Millennium Stadium. Cardiff Backpacker Hostel is the city's most central hostel, a short walk from the train station.

If none of these hostels sounds like what you are looking for, do not worry. There are plenty more Cardiff hostels where those came from. Just keep reading the listings until you find the one that suits you.

Do you need anything else for your trip? You can search for the best deals on international airfare to Cardiff and book your ticket now. You can also learn more about the area in our Cardiff Travel Guide.
