Mexico City, or Ciudad de Mexico in Spanish, is Mexico\'s crowded capital city which has thoughtfully been divided into reasonably sized neighborhoods so visitors (not to mention locals) do not feel too overwhelmed by the sheer enormity of the city and the number of people in it. But as overwhelming as Mexico City can be, it is full of great public squares, historic monuments, pretty churches and fine museums. With a little planning and a good map, you can navigate this sprawling city successfully and take in everything it has to offer.
Thankfully, Mexico City has an extensive public transportation network - the city\'s subway is one of the larges in the world - so you will be able to get around the city and to and from your hostel with ease (provided you remember where it is). The historical center of the city tends to have a higher concentration of hostels.
