    This was my first time hosteling

    Yes

    Most of them were cheap and very clean and had very good locations.

      Meeting other young people.

      Getting our items locked in the safe in the room.

    • Biggest Hurdle, Obstacle or Difficulty?
      Communicating with the hostel owners.

    • Biggest surprise?
      How clean they were.

  10. Do you ever book any of your hostel accommodation in advance?
    Always

    We heard it was a good idea in the major cities.

  12. Who is the most memorable person you met in a hostel and why?
    The owner of the hostel in Madrid, because she helped us get our stuff out of the locked safe!

  13. Why do you stay in hostels, as opposed to other types of accommodation?
    It's cheaper.

  15. What is the biggest myth people have about hostels and hosteling?
    That they are dirty and that you can't get your own room.

    To explore new places and to meet people.

  17. What is your advice for other travelers wanting to stay in hostels?
    Do your research, and book ahead of time if you are traveling in the summer.
