    23

  2. Nationality
    Australia

  3. Where do you live now?
    London, England

  4. Occupation
    International Sales executive

  5. When it comes to travel accommodation (but leaving out crashing with friends, family or people you meet on the road), how often do you stay in hostels?
Sometimes a hostel, sometimes a hotel or B&B, etc

  6. Where have you hosteled?
    Australia, Europe, USA

  7. Would you stay in a hostel again on future trips?
    Yes

  8. Why or why not?
Hostels are the best. A great way to meet like-minded people (usually!) and stay somewhere on the cheap.

  9. Out of all your experiences hosteling, what was your:
    • Best Moment
      Too many!!

    • Worst Moment
A dodgy French guy who shouldn't have been there

  10. Do you ever book any of your hostel accommodation in advance?
    Sometimes

  11. Why or why not?
Some cities get rammed at certain times, and it's better to be organised than moping around for half a day looking for a place to sleep.

  12. Who is the most memorable person you met in a hostel and why?
You meet lots of interesting people

  13. Why do you stay in hostels, as opposed to other types of accommodation?
Cheap, easy and you meet great people.

  14. Is there a hostel you'd recommend to other travelers? If so, what is it and where?
Used to be called the Camel (or something!) Backpackers, Byron Bay, Australia

  15. What is the biggest myth people have about hostels and hosteling?
A motley bunch of the great unwashed nicking your food and then your bag.

  16. Why do you like to travel?
Travelling is a great way of escaping the authorities! Plus there's a lot of great things to do in the world, and I find that watching it all on TV is pretty damn boring.

  17. What is your advice for other travelers wanting to stay in hostels?
Read reviews of hostels on the internet if you know where you're going, but make sure you read enough on each place to get a general idea. Lots of hostels are good but the people there at the time are wankers, and lots of hostels are crap but it's the top people you meet there that make you love it.
