  5. When it comes to travel accommodation (but leaving out crashing with friends, family or people you meet on the road), how often do you stay in hostels?
    pretty much all the time

    Yes

  8. Why or why not?
    Cheap and affordable accommodation that is also a great place to meet fellow travellers who are a great way to find out what's good in other places you want to visit!

  9. Out of all your experiences hosteling, what was your:
    • Best Moment
      Finding all the cheap deals in each town!

    • Worst Moment
      Sunburnt all through stay at Byron Bay – no beach!

    • Biggest Hurdle, Obstacle or Difficulty?
      Backpacking with blistered shoulders!

    • Biggest surprise?
      Most are run by travellers who are staying a fair while in the area.

  10. Do you ever book any of your hostel accommodation in advance?
    Always

  11. Why or why not?
    Security. Don't wanna plan to stay in a town only to find it's been fully booked out!

  12. Why do you stay in hostels, as opposed to other types of accommodation?
    Great for the budget. More money for seeing the sights!

  14. What is the biggest myth people have about hostels and hosteling?
    You get what you pay for. Not true, a lot of places offer really good accommodation and perks such as free breaky and often a free BBQ each week.

  16. What is your advice for other travelers wanting to stay in hostels?
    Give it a go. You're only as old as you feel. Most of the hostels I've stayed in have had a few older travellers who are always good fun.
