    Sometimes a hostel, sometimes a hotel or B&B, etc

    Yes

    Cheap, convenient, easy to meet fellow travellers.

    Always

    Saves you from having to spend more than you would have on a hotel.

    Some nutcase in Boston. Seemed to think I was an instant confidant.

  13. Why do you stay in hostels, as opposed to other types of accommodation?
    When I'm traveling, I'm mostly out exploring the town. All I need for accomodation is a bed and storage.

    Eurohostel, Helsinki, Finland

  15. What is the biggest myth people have about hostels and hosteling?
    That you'll get your things stolen.

    Why stay in the same place all the time?

    Book in advance, and pictures of the place are very helpful.
