I find hostelling an economical option for a single traveller. As well, it gives me the opportunity to meet other travellers and perhaps hook up with them on further adventures as well as just sharing travelling stories. It depends on the city the hostel is in. I think booking 2 days in advance is more than enough notice depending on the city you are travelling to. - Who is the most memorable person you met in a hostel and why?

Be prepared for a little noise - bring ear plugs, secure your belongings in lockers, always have shower shoes and have fun.
