  5. When it comes to travel accommodation (but leaving out crashing with friends, family or people you meet on the road), how often do you stay in hostels?
    This was my first time hosteling

    Europe

  7. Would you stay in a hostel again on future trips?
    Yes

  8. Why or why not?
    It was cheap, clean and easy!

  9. Out of all your experiences hosteling, what was your:
    • Worst Moment
      Realizing we checked out too late in one place and were charged for an additional day.

    • Biggest Hurdle, Obstacle or Difficulty?
      One hostel owner said that I had told him I was traveling with a female companion, when it was my boyfriend. We had to share a room with two other women.

    • Biggest surprise?
      How clean and tidy every place was.

  10. Do you ever book any of your hostel accommodation in advance?
    Sometimes

  11. Why or why not?
    It's nice to have a place on the first and last nights of the trip, that way you don't have to deal with the hassle that searching for a place to stay can sometimes be.

  12. Who is the most memorable person you met in a hostel and why?
    The owner of our first hostel in Madrid. He had champagne for everyone on New Year's Eve.

  13. Why do you stay in hostels, as opposed to other types of accommodation?
    Because I don't like spending the most of my hard-earned travel money on a place where I spend the least amount of time.

  14. What is the biggest myth people have about hostels and hosteling?
    That you have to be "young" to stay in a hostel.

  15. Why do you like to travel?
    I love to "discover" new places. I'm addicted to foreign foods, languages and customs. It give one a true sense of a world community when traveling beyond one's own borders.

  16. What is your advice for other travelers wanting to stay in hostels?
    Do it! You won't regret it!
