Britain’s only island, Portsmouth is a unique blend of seaside resort and naval heritage. Portsmouth & Southsea Backpackers is the city's only independent hostel for travelers.

It offers a friendly cosmopolitan atmosphere within easy reach of the major tourist attractions including the ships (Victory, Mary Rose and Warrior), the D Day museum, and the new Gunwharf Quays. It is only 150m from the beach and in an area containing an excellent variety of pubs, restaurants and clubs.

The accommodation is mostly in small dorms for 4, and 6 people, but there are also twins, doubles, and family rooms some with en-suite facilities. All hot showers are free. We have a large social area which has Sky TV, internet facilities, pool, darts and a dining area.

There is a large fully equipped kitchen, and a barbeque and seating in the garden area. There is also secure cycle storage.
