Tarifa only 20 years ago, before it was discovered by pioneering windsurfers, was little more than a small fishing village which the average tourists avoided because of its winds. Today other than windsurfing and kite surfing Tarifa has become very fashionable and attracts all active and nature loving people.

Dulce Nombre Hotel reflects the new and the old. It is out of the entire hubbub, however still within walking distance to the trendiest beaches of all and yet is at the foot of the National Park of the Acornocales over looking the Las Dunas bay and with Africa on the horizon. The hotel is run by a local family and respects the traditional way of life only just coming to terms with the latest developments.

Hotel Dulce Nombre started out as apartments to rent. In time and through popular request it has become a combination between a hotel and residence. It now offers fully furnished apartments to guests who want isolation and a 'Do it yourself ' approach and rooms to guest who want total relaxation and be served upon.
