The good news about trying to figure out where to stay in Paris is that the city is large enough that you'll be able to find a bed with a price tag you can afford (even in a city this expensive), and you'll still be able to get anywhere you want to go (even if your hostel isn't in the city center) thanks to Paris' fabulously quick and easy Metro system. And with a city this large, there's no need to worry that every hostel is youth-oriented and party central. It's a special kind of hostel meant for people who want to socialize with fellow travelers, often into the wee hours. Peace & Love is located about ten minutes from the Gare du Nord and the Gare de l'Est train stations.
