Why stay in Paris?
The good news about trying to figure out where to stay in Paris is that the city is large enough that you'll be able to find a bed with a price tag you can afford (even in a city this expensive), and you'll still be able to get anywhere you want to go (even if your hostel isn't in the city center) thanks to Paris' fabulously quick and easy Metro system. And with a city this large, there's no need to worry that every hostel is youth-oriented and party central. While some might be more backpacker style, others will feel more like bed and breakfasts than hostels. Some of the Paris hostels worth noting are listed here.
Perfect Hostel is in the artsy neighborhood of Montmarte, a short walk from the lovely white church on the Paris skyline, Sacre Coeur. Breakfast and linens are included with your stay, and there are room options for every budget. Also in the Montmarte area is Le Village, which is close to a Metro stop. Le Village includes breakfast in the price, and offers a common room as well as a bar for guests and a terrace with a view of Sacre Coeur.
Absolute Paris is in the Republique neighborhood, a 20-minute Metro ride to the Eiffel Tower, 10-minute ride to the Opera and 15-minute ride to Montmarte. There are singles, doubles, triples and dorms available, all with private bathrooms.
If you're going to Paris to party, then the Peace & Love Hostel might be right up your alley. It's a special kind of hostel meant for people who want to socialize with fellow travelers, often into the wee hours. Peace & Love is located about ten minutes from the Gare du Nord and the Gare de l'Est train stations.
There are plenty more Paris hostels where these came from, so don't stop searching with this list. Plug in the dates of your stay and find out what's available and what suits you best.
