Why stay in Dusseldorf?

Düsseldorf lies on the lovely Rhine River, and is probably not high on many tourist must-see lists - especially since so many people come to Germany only for Oktoberfest. Düsseldorf, however, has its own famous beer, called "Altbier," which is only brewed in the area - and the downtown area has so many bars and pubs it is known as the "longest bar in the world." That sounds pretty good if you ask us.
Getting around Düsseldorf is easy with the city's bus, tram and subway systems, so you should have no trouble getting from your hostel to anyplace in the city you want to go (including those fantastic pubs) and back. Since Düsseldorf is not as touristy, there are only a couple of hostels in the city, so book early to reserve a room at a good price. It is important to remember that "hostels" are not just for young people or the backpacking crowd (even if the place has the word "backpacker" in the name!) - hostels are ideal for budget-conscious travelers who are interested in meeting other travelers. Hotel AltDüsseldorf is in the center of the old town area, close to the airport and the shopping area. Hotel Haus Hillesheim seit 1894 is close to the Altstadt, the main pub area.
City Apart. Hotel Düsseldorf is in the city center, making exploring the city on foot easy. Backpackers-Düsseldorf is a ten minute walk from the Altstadt pub area and includes breakfast with your stay.
