Why stay in Berlin?

There are lots of hotels and hostels in Berlin, owing to its continued rise as a tourist destination after the war. If you can't find a hostel that you like amongst all these choices, you're not looking hard enough! Also remember that "hostels" are not just for the young backpacking crowd - they're perfect for any budget-minded traveler who wants to meet fellow travelers. A few Berlin hostels worth noting are highlighted here.

Riverside Lodge Berlin is a seven minute metro ride from many of Berlin's sights, and it's in a neighborhood with lots of eateries and nightclubs. Jetpak City Hostel is 100% non-smoking within walking distane from the Zoo metro station.

The Circus Hostel is in the historic Mitte district. Jetpak Original is 20 minutes from the Zoo station and also rents bikes for guests to use to get around the city.

So, you're not completely enchanted with any of these options? Don't worry! There are plenty of Berlin hostels listed here. Keep reading the descriptions until you find the right one for you.

Berlin has undergone so many drastic changes in the last half-century that parts of it are hardly recognizable anymore. It's the kind of city where, when you buy a guidebook, you do so knowing it'll be out of date within six months. Presumably, this constant state of change and construction will ease off at some point in the future - but for now, Berlin is one of the most dynamic cities in Europe, if not the world.

Visitors to Berlin these days can take in sights on both sides of what was once one of the world's most famous walls. Keep an eye underfoot as you'll see bricks marking the location of the Berlin Wall as it snaked its way through the city. Berlin's once split personality can make navigating the city a challenge for tourists, as there are multiple areas which could be considered "city centers." You may find them all, you may not - but rest assured that no matter where you go in Berlin, you'll find plenty worth seeing. From the historic pre-war buildings to the new war memorials and everything in between, Berlin is a fantastic city for culture addicts, history buffs and nightlife junkies alike.

If you need anything else for your trip, you're in the right place. You can search for international airfare to Berlin and get on your way. And you can also read more about the city before you get there in our Berlin Travel Guide.
